Respect In Sport - Parent Program

RINGETTE RESPECT IN SPORT FOR PARENTS

New this season all athletes under 18 participating in Ringette must have at least one parent/guardian complete the Respect in Sport for Parents online program.

The Respect in Sport Parent Program is a one-hour online module for parents/guardians, reinforcing their role in their child’s activities, encouraging positive sports behaviours, and providing insight into the various roles other individuals play, such as coaches and officials.

This program empowers parents to:

  • Ensure the safety of their children.
  • Encourage positive and effective communication.
  • Enhance a child’s overall enjoyment of Ringette.

The online course costs $12 and is transferable to other sports involved in Respect in Sport.

Ideally this should be completed before registering your child, but this season registration opens on 1st July and if you register your child prior to completing your course you must email your certificate number to the SMRA Registrar. The final deadline to complete the course and be eligible to participate in ringette activities is 1st November 2022

The course is available online only and takes about 1 hour to complete. If you have already completed the program for another sport you do not need to retake it, just enter your certificate number when you register for ringette.
