President Update August 26, 2020

Aug. 26, 2020

Good Evening Everyone,

Another week, another update!  Wow, gotta love it when we finally have items to communicate to you.

Great news!  Today, we received word that our application submitted to Ringette Ontario by our COVID Team was approved and we now have permission to return to sanctioned activities when we can.  We scored 99 out of a possible 100 points which is awesome!  Thank you Kim Garniss, our COVID Safety Officer, and the entire COVID Committee for all your hard work getting us this far.  And continued thanks for the work you have ahead of you to allow us to progress through to the next stages.  A detailed COVID information package will be forthcoming on what to expect as far as screening, tracking, participating, and everything else relating to play.  As you can expect, things are constantly changing and we want to share accurate details with you.

Also today (actually last night at Town Council), the Town has officially agreed to open the PRC for ice as of October 1. The Town Council agreed to a higher cost per hour of ice then was initially discussed, but lower than what was discussed for the new year so it should even out.  They also made it clear they have no intention of starting the second ice pad until the first pad schedule is totally used up.  We have also been instructed to reduce our ice time request from 16 hours a week to one hour per team to start.  Our Ice Scheduler, Lori Black is in constant communication with the PRC and working tirelessly to ensure that our players' best interest is first and foremost.  Again, more info to come as we get more details.

Thank you also to everyone for completing your waivers.  We only have 19 outstanding so please if you have not signed off electronically, please do so.

As far as registration, thank you to all of you who have submitted your first half fee.  Once we have final registration numbers after the September 15 deadline, our Coaching and Player Development committee will be able to determine how best to form our groups to meet the PRC and Ringette Ontario guidelines for sizes in a fair and equitable manner.

Well, that is all for now.  Thank you all for your continued support and patience.  This is a work in progress, and thankfully, we are progressing!

Any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Thank you.
