A Winning Tournament - A Silver Lining
Submitted By Rebecca Shearer on Sunday, November 24, 2019
St.Marys U10 White Team went into today's final game looking to take the gold from Mitchell U10. A challenge that was setting the bar high as regular season play has brought Mitchell U10 to an undefeated status.

The Snipers again came off the bench ready for business. Defence Peyton VanStratten and Evelyn Borg had their sticks down and were ready to defend goalie Emerson Borg. Mitchell Stingers were fast on the ice and pushed back as much as possible but forwards Madison Crooks, Deanna Muir and Brooke Hahn refused to give up and with the help of centre Joey Binning the goals started to slip behind the Stingers net.
The hometown team of Mitchell battled on against defenders Kirsten McKichan and Aryn Sheldon trying their very best to put the ring in the back of the Snipers cage.
The scoreboard went back and forth throughout the whole game, fans were sitting on the edge of their seats! Coaches were hoarse from yelling and refs were tired from just watching these ladies play!
Forwards Isla Ritchie and Amy Shearer pressed on with centre Marci Linton to keep the win within inches of the SNIPERS. With less then 10 seconds left in the game the SNIPERS were down two but they refused to accept defeat, so with some serious hard work and fast passing Kirsten McKichan popped it into the top corner of the net just as the buzzer sounded!
Bringing the final score to 9-8 for Mitchell U10.

Incredible! The St.Marys U10 White team has come up against this very team in regular season and they went home with a huge loss. Now just a few short weeks later the SNIPERS come into the Mitchell barn and they show the crowd and the fans that they are getting nothing but stronger as a team.
A huge shout out to J.Binning #15 for coming in second overall in points for the entire tournament for U10 division!

We are beyond proud of this squad of girls, at this rate the St.Marys Ringette Association Annual Tournament on Dec 6-7-8 is bound to be a showstopper. Looking for something to get your blood boiling? Wondering what to do in town the first weekend of December?
Consider coming out to watch an amazing organization that is filled to the brim with local talent. Come out and see " The Fastest Game On Ice!"

The U10 White Team from St. Marys Ringette has started their season off with a mix of losses and wins. The losses were hard ones and it's always a curious thing for me to hear how other parents handle those games.
