It's time to bring your "A" Game
Submitted By Rebecca Shearer on Thursday, March 29, 2018
Regionals for the 2017/18 season on upon us! It's the end game, it's the icing on the's the golden "ring".

We're ready. The ladies from the U16 SNIPERS are about to take on the top tiered teams of our region and they're more then ready.
It's been a great season with some fantastic wins and some challenging losses, but in all this season has been a great success!
I heard a few years ago that coaching the U16 age group was a tough year. The players start getting their first part time jobs, school becomes a bit more challenging and of course all of a sudden these players have "social lives"!
Between the ages of 13-15 it's a common fact that young people sometimes struggle balancing everything new that's going on in their lives. Sometimes they struggle with authority, friendships and responsibility, but with perseverance and some backing from some great coaches, friends and parents we always hope that all teens come through it and learn as much as they can to make it to the next stage of their young lives.
I think it's safe to say our players have done very well balancing their lives, committing to their teammates and showing up and giving their very best to the sport.
It's been such an amazing journey to watch these ladies grow and learn this incredible sport. As a parent I get wanting to "do it all", I understand the other pressures that come with the teen years. But I want the U16 SNIPERS from St.Marys to know "you've done good kid".
When my daughter was little  she asked me once, "what do you do for fun Mom?"
I didn't hesitate, " I love to watch you play".
Ladies, know that your teammates love to see you on the ice, your coaches are happy to have you there, but there's a couple of people in your lives that sit in the stands every week and watch with wonder at "how do they move like that?", and "Wow, that was a great play!".
We watch and we smile and it makes us, as parents and grandparents, feel content and at peace that we are a part of your journey. Because we are past this stage in our lives, doesn't mean we don't appreciate and enjoy watching from the bleachers as you struggle and succeed, or fail for that matter!
We love to watch you's what we do for fun.

Go get'm SNIPERS!
