A Triple Crown Win for the U14's
Submitted By Rebecca Shearer on Sunday, January 29, 2017
Yes, That's right so far this 2016-17 season our Canada Trust/Hubbard Pharmacy U14's have been undefeated. Three tournaments and 26 league games later and they are still on the right side of the finish line.

This weekend's tournament in Ajax was a pleasure to attend. The tournament was well run and well attended by teams from all over South Western Ontario.
There were a total of 8 - U14 teams registered in this years' Silver Ring Tournament and St.Marys is very proud of our young ladies bringing home the GOLD again!.

The Snipers came up against Sudbury in their first game of the weekend. Sudbury made the trip to Ajax with 11 players on their roster and they played hard and kept their heads in the game.
But as you can imagine glancing over and seeing our bench of 16 there might have been a little intimidation there.
But Sudbury showed no fear and kept our ladies busy defending our end.
With 4 goals counting to the St.Marys board, assists were made by Natasha Hicks #8 and Shayla Lane #14. With only one penalty served by the Snipers during the battle.

The Second of 4 games played, saw the Snipers up against The Burlington Blast. St.Marys doubled the score to win 8-4, however the U14's spent a bit more time in the box this game, with 6 minutes spent riding the bench. It was great fun to watch the passing that the players were completing and the patience used when delivery that assist to lead to a sweet goal! Assist credits go to #18 Halley Robertson, #3 Jill Unich, #15 Emmy Jeffery, #10 Cierra Boyer and #7 Katie Gratton.

Heading into game three the ladies were feeling confident in their abilities and looking for a win against Ajax. #15 Emmy Jeffery assisted the 1st goal to start the ball rolling just 40 secs after the whistle blew! From there the St.Marys U14 team made their crowd of fans and family proud by bringing the win 12-4. Again, the passing and the plays that the players worked into their game while keeping their heads about them was amazing to see. passing/assist kodos goes to....
#15 Emmy Jeffery
#10 Cierre Boyer
# 7 Katie Gratton
#18 Halley Robertson
#8 Natasha Hicks
#6 Jayden DeBoer
#5 Grace Shearer
Another feat achieved....Not one minute lost to penalties on the St. Marys side! That's right a great game played by all.

The three wins on Friday and Saturday lead the way to a battle on the ice between St.Marys and Burlington. This game saw Burlington take the first shot and sink the ring after a scoreless battle in the first 9 minutes.
The players did well and stepped up their offense to see the final score 4-1 taking home the GOLD.
Highlight of the game was Katie Stevens first penalty! Yes, it's all downhill from here Katie!
#15 Emmy Jeffery was given bragging rights to the two assists during the final game.

It was a pleasure to battle against the Burlington team and the appreciation was mutual. Well played ladies, well played.

Thank you to the Parents, Grandparents and Families that made this trip a great one. Stayed tuned for our end of year blast!!! You are all much loved!

3 Golds and a 26 game league winning streak....I'm thinking there's going to be a PARTY! If we can just make sure Andy stays on his feet.
